Repairing a corrupted excel file
 
I have a corrupted excel file which is very important to me.
Can anybody help me to recover the data.
Can forward the file if necessary.
I would appreciate any advice.

Before spending $70, try installing freeware OpenOffice.Org. No
guarantees, but the Calc module may be able to open your damaged Excel file.

Hi~
I think a good way is to try some excel file recovery tools, a friend of mine once repaired his xls file use a repair tool. You may also have a try: http://www.datanumen.com/aer/recovery.htm

Not sure if this still works, or if it ever worked with XL, but an old word
document fix was to open it in open office and save it again.

May be worth a try ? :)
