SUBTOTAL
Hi, I have subtotal at the bottom of a spreadsheet and is used when filtering
on a group of rows. I have a problem that if I change the subtotal row or chnge the format of the cell it stops appearing in the filter. Why is this? Thanks |

Your filter criteria might not match with the subtotal row.

SUBTOTAL
I like to add the =subtotal() fields in row 1, then the headers in row 2 and the
data in rows 3:xxx. Then I can freeze panes showing the first two rows and see those subtotals easily. If I have to have the subtotals at the bottom, I'd include an empty row between the data and the subtotal row. And when I applied data|filter|autofilter, I'd select the range exactly--I wouldn't let excel guess. I don't want it to include that empty row or the subtotal row.
