insert text in a no. of cells of each sheet?
i am trying to insert text fields in a number of cells but i want it on each
sheet. i also trying to do it so next time i open excel and i type something different it will appear in these cells thanks for help |
If you select all sheets in question (click 1st then hold down shift and
click last or click 1st and hold down ctrl while selecting different sheets), now everything you put in one cell in one sheet will also be in the selected sheets, right click a sheet tab to ungroup Regards, Peo Sjoblom "hally" wrote: i am trying to insert text fields in a number of cells but i want it on each sheet. i also trying to do it so next time i open excel and i type something different it will appear in these cells thanks for help |
hally,
If the text you want to appear is in, say, "Sheet1" cell A1, then simply select all the cells where you want it to appear, type an = sign, then navigate to sheet1 cell A1 and press Ctrl-enter. That will create a link, and whenever you update cell A1, it will appear in all the cells with that link formula. Or you could group all sheets except the top one, click on the cell and hit
= and then click on the cell on the top sheet that it corresponds to. Don't forget to ungroup the sheets, though. -- Andy. "Peo Sjoblom" wrote in message ...
