sorting dates to clump months together
 

I am trying to group by birth months 1240 people listed in xx-xx-xxxx format.
I want to put all the january's together etc. but keep get 04-20-1924
before 01-23-1966. sugestions please

put =month() in an adjacent cell ans ort on that
