Problem with 'Find'

I have a very normal, very simple, Excel worksheet; dates in mm/dd/yy
format,. currency in $, many formulas and many text cells. All of a sudden
the Ctrl/F Find function can't find anything - text, currency or dates.
Tried all Find formats including no format. No joy.

Would appreciate any suggestions

Share some of your data--and if it includes dates, share the number format for
those date cells.

Share what you looked for in the Edit|Find dialog.

Share what you had for all those settings.

ps. If you can't see all the options, then make sure you click on the Option
button. Then try clearing the Find format.

Problem with 'Find'

Thanks Dave - but I don't know what you mean by all this sharing.
Tools/Share Workbook shows me as the only user There are no other users on
this machine anyway. BTW, I have a macro active on the page in question,
but it only controls the color of an entry.

Other workbooks seem to handle Find correctly, it's just this one. Looks
like not all cells are "unfindable" All mm/dd/yy formatted cells are not
found, also looks like any cell that is the numerical sum of several others
cannot be found. One case is the sum of two numbers; one of which is zero.
'Find' finds the non-zero number, but not the sum.

Confused - obviously

I mean share the details in your post to the newsgroup. I wanted to set up a
test workbook using your data and try it myself.

====

Just a guess on the =sum() problem...

Maybe the sum isn't really what you see in the cell--maybe it's formatted to
lose decimals.

If the sum adds up to 7.99999, but the cell shows 8 because of formatting (or
columnwidth), then you won't be able to find 8 using Edit|Find.

Since this is a text-only newsgroup, type it into your next message.

There are some people who will open files (I'm not one of them).

You could even strip the proprietary information from your workbook and share it
on one of the many sites that allow file sharing.

http://www.yousendit.com

is one of them.
