Open XML Spreadsheets with Excel 2000
I had a requirement where I needed to save Excel 2003 as XML spreadsheet,
modify this XML and use this Excel-ML with Office 2003. But some of our users who are still on Office 2000 are unable to view the Excel generated. What they could see is XML written onto the spreadsheet but not the excel contents or formatting. Does Excel 2000 support saving and openening Excel-XMLs? I dont see any option in Excel 2000 which would say "Save As" XML Spreadsheet. -- regards, Anirudh |
Open XML Spreadsheets with Excel 2000
No, XL2000 does not support this, and neither does XL2002 - it was
first implemented in XL2003. What I did when a supplier switched to issuing XML files was to use OpenOffice to open the file (it's a free download) and then save it from there as a proper .xls file. Hope this helps. Pete On Dec 7, 4:30*am, mukherjee.aniruddh wrote: I had a requirement where I needed to save Excel 2003 as XML spreadsheet, modify this XML and use this Excel-ML with Office 2003.
