what is xlxs?
I saved files onto a memory stick from excel. Now that I need them they are
showing up with xlxs as the extension and I can't get them to open. What is this? |

Do you really mean xlxs?
If it were xlsx, it would be Excel 2007. Excel 2007 compatibility pack for Excel 2003 users: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923505 Download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en -- David Biddulph "Sue" wrote in message ... Did you mean .xlsx?
If you did, then this is a new fileformat in xl2007. It means that there are no macros saved in the workbook (.xlsm means that there's a macro). If you're using xl2002 or xl2003, you could use the compatibility pack: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en If you're not using xl2002, you could go back to the original pc and save the workbook in the older fileformat (.xls).
