How do I add the dash in my zip +4 column in excel 2007?
I have BEEN to www.gmayor.com and I've tried to understand the instructions
.... I have numerous years experience in excel (not so much with 2007) and I CANNOT figure this out!! I try to format the column of zip codes ... to special, zip + 4 ... doesn't work. But when I double click each cell and the cursor starts blinking in that cell and I hit <enter, THEN the dash appears!! How the *&$#$ do I get the damn dash?!?!?!?!? I have 2,000 records to mail merge into mailing labels and I've spent the last 3 HOURS trying to figure this out!! I really need step-by-step instructions. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME?!?!?!?????? |

Try this
Enter 1 in any blank cell not in the column you have your data. Copy the cell. Select entire column with your data. Choose Paste Special-Multiply and click OK. This will force your data to be in number format... this should allow you to format as Zip+4. Let us know how it goes.
