Hello,
I have typed a formula into the formula and it has been placed in the appropriate cell. Unfortunately it will nor show the result of the formula in the appropriate cell. The only way I can view the result of the formula is to click on: fx and a little box pops up with the result off the formula. All the times I have used excel the result is automatically placed in the appropriate and the formula is not shown unless I click on that cell. Is there some setting I need to change for this to happen? Adagio |

The most likely explanation is that the cell in question was formatted as
text before you tried to enter the formula. Format as text then re-enter the formula (F2 and enter). If it isn't that, check that you haven't set the option to View Formulas. [The latter would apply to all cells, so you'd see no results, only fomulae.] -- David Biddulph "Adagio" wrote in message ...
