underline in an empty cell
Is there a way to have an underline (single accounting) in an empty cell?

I don't think so.
I don't like putting space characters in cells (it screws up =counta()'s and other stuff), but if I had to, I'd use a formula like: =" " It would be just a little bit easier to notice in the formula bar. no, unless you put spaces in the cell, or you could put a bottom border on
