Subtraction Question
 

I am working on an excel spreadsheet that shows data from my students in the
fall, winter, and spring...then a column to show the growth. In the growth
column I want to show the growth from fall to spring. I know I can use
=sum(d3-b3) to get that number. I am wondering if there is a formula to be
able to fill in one formula for 30 rows, so I don't have to type in the above
formula for all 30 rows???

you don't have to type the formula 30 times.
Two ways...
1. copy the formula then high light the area under the formula down to row
30 or how ever far you want to to. then paste. excel will adjust the fromulas
to fit each row.
2. click the cell with the formula. at the lower right of the cell pointer
is a small square. hover the mouse pointer over the little square. the mouse
pointer will turn into a small cross. click and hold the left mouse button
and drag down. excel will fill in all the formulas and adjust each formula to
fit each row.
