Loosing formatting in 2007
Hi
I am facing very weired issue... we built a model in excel 2003 around a year back... one of my team mate moved to version 2007 and he enhanced the model a bit... everything was fine and we have used this enhanced model in 2007 for last few months but now all of sudden we have started facing very weired issues... this model is not allowing is any formatting changes... when we do certain formatting changing save and close the file and when re-open the file all changes are gone :(:( excel is not even prompting any error message, its like it is not allowing new formatting changes... just wondering why?? note: our model file size is aprrox 15 MB and we have got huge data and have written many formulaes as well.. is that something causing the problem?? what could be possible solution to this issue? please advise otherwise we are dead :( thanks in advance... |
Loosing formatting in 2007
With a 15MB file, you may have hit one of the potential limits. You can kind
of guess whether or not you may have by examining the specifications for 2007: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...738491033.aspx Excel 2007 is not the performer that 2003 was, even with its greater capacity for (theoretically) huge amounts of data. But it takes a hefty machine to handle hefty amounts of data. Do you still have a system with Excel 2003 on it? It might be interesting to use the 'Save As' option in 2007 to save a copy in 97-2003 file format, load it up into 2003 and make some formatting changes and see if they 'stick' or not.
