Default How do I prevent a long string of text from wrapping in a text fil

I am saving my worksheet as a Formatted Text (space delimited). One of the
cells has 256 characters. When I open the txt file, the column has wrapped to
mulitple rows. I have tried to open the file in both notepad and textpad with
the word wrap turned off.
