Double Worksheets when opening Excel

Hi all!

I have a computer user and his Excel 2003 opens two worksheets whenever he
uses the program. This is a problem because of a signifigant time delay
between the opening of the two sheets. This problem occurs when he
double-clicks on an existing worksheet and when he opens Excel.

We have tried using the "hide" option on the second sheet which did not
work. There is no excel file in XLSTART folder. We are running Windows XP
Pro. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Are you sure that it's two sheets, and not two windows on the same
worksheet?
If the latter, the title bar will say something like Book1:1 and Book1:2.
In that case, shut one of the windows (little blue x for that window, not
the big red x above it which shuts the whole of Excel), then save the file,
close, and reopen.
