I wish to convert numbers in a spreadsheet into tally marks?
If number was to be 20 or higher I would like to return that number. If that number was less than 20 i would like to see it displayed with tally marks Tally marks requirded are groups of four with diagonal or horizontal line through groups of four to represent groups of 5 is that possible? |

Try this in B1, if your number is in A1:
=IF(A1<20,REPT(REPT(CHAR(134),4)&" ",INT(A1/5))&REPT("| ",MOD (A1,5)),A1) It displays like this: 3 | | | 5 €*€*€*€* 7 €*€*€*€* | | 11 €*€*€*€* €*€*€*€* | 15 €*€*€*€* €*€*€*€* €*€*€*€* 19 €*€*€*€* €*€*€*€* €*€*€*€* | | | | 20 20 27 27 (Based on a reply to another post by Dave Peterson in Nov 2006). Hope this helps. Pete On Oct 22, 9:49Â*am, Steve wrote: I wish to convert numbers in a spreadsheet into tally marks? If number was to be 20 or higher I would like to return that number.
