conditional formatting
I have an excel spredsheet (2000 )and the conditional formatting is ghosted
out why is this and can I make it work. I want to have a cell change color when the letter "V" is in the cell -- grizz |

If the worksheet is protected, unprotect it.
If the workbook is shared, unshare it. This is a shared work book and I do have full control -- also the protect

Which is normal when a workbook is shared.
