Maximum amount of numbers in one Cell

Is there any way to change the maximum amount of numbers that you can put in
a particular cell. I have users that are using Excel for Tracking numbers
and some of them are greater than 15 digits. When these numbers are put into
Excel it puts 0's for every digit after 15 digits. Is there any way to
increase the amount of digits you can put in 1 particular cell?

Start the value with an apostrophe (single quote).

If you require the number to remain a number for mathematical purposes then
there is not much that can be done. 15 significant digits is a limit of your
computer and not of XL. At that point scientific notation takes over.

If you only require text then either format the cells as text prior to
entering the number or preceed the number with an apostophe
