Header Columns

How do I have separate column widths in a spreadsheet? I wish to insert a
legend in the spreadsheet header and freeze frame it, but I wish for the body
to have columns of different widths. Thanks.

Doug select cells A1 & A2 then Format Cells Alignment and tick Merge cells
Use the paste brush to copy down or across the sheet as far as you wish. You
can use this 'merge' anywhere but use carefully as it can give you problems
with copypaste and with formulae.
Hope this helps

Usually best to avoid merging cells. You may find that the alignment option
"Cernter across selection" will do the trick, and it is a lot less
troublesome.
