How can I test an email (bulk emails) if they're still working or not?

Same way Spam-bots do, send out a email, see who responds?

In all seriousness, there's no "simple" way to validate an email address
other than to attempt to send a message and see if you get a response.
(similar to how people used to 'ping' an IP address.
