I Know its out there....

Hey guys,

I think this is gonna be easy but I cannot seem to figure it out...
I have the following headings:

Own Client None

I have handballed data into each column leaving blank those without. So it
now looks like this:

Own Client None
Yes
Yes
Yes

What I need is a formula at the side of each row saying due to the answers
the result is either "Own" "Client" or "None".

I was thinking of using an IF forumla but that does not have enough variables.
Would it help if I changed the Yes answers to numbers (say 1 for Yes 0 for
No)?

Bit of a head scratcher...

Hi
There is more than one way of skinning a cat, and more than one way of
nesting If functions. The following works fine for me:
=IF(A2="yes","Own",(IF(B2="yes","Client","None")))
Good Luck

Hi,

Put this in d2 and drag down

=INDEX($A$1:$C$1,MATCH("Yes",A2:C2))
