Proble wih opening an Excel file
 

I am using excel 2007 and when I try to open a file, the "running virus scan"
starts and it can take up to 15 minutes for the file to open. Is there a way
to open it without running the virus scan?

You'll need to look at your virus scan software options. This isn't an
Excel problem.

If you have a Norton Anti-Virus Application, turn off
[Options]-[Miscellaneous]-[Enable Office Plug-in].
