file getting bad
I have a fairly large Excel sheet that seems to be getting flakey. It is
something that gets opened many times by a number of people, most have 2003 and one has 2007 but always saves it as compatible. Lately, it has been acting funny; occasionally takes a very long time to load or close, or screen gets mixed up. I have also had some formulas that do not respond as I think they should despite many tries on this forum and pretty skilled people looking at them. So far, it has always managed to work eventually. Does this indicate something going generally bad with this file, and is there something I can do to fix it before it really goes bad? |

If desired, send your file to my address below. I will only look if:
1. You send a copy of this message on an inserted sheet 2. You send a clear explanation of what you want 3. You send before/after examples and expected results. -- Don Guillett Microsoft MVP Excel SalesAid Software "comfuted" wrote in message ... Did you find a solution for your problem?
I am lately experiencing a strange behavior with workbooks we've been using for several years (they were working fine in office 2003 and office 2007). It started with someone sending in a workbook acting funny. I opened it. After this several other workbooks on my machine are acting funny. I have not noticed any issues w/ formulas or delays loading the workbooks. Only my screen is messed up...We have cells/ranges of cells or excel controls from other worksheets in the workbook painted on top of the active worksheet making it inoperable. (is only happens in excel) And is spreading across the company (by exchanging excel files). Can it be the same problem? Were you able to solve it? I misinterpreted the symptoms. The behavior was caused by 2 security updates:
KB973475 (excel 2003) and KB973593 (for Excel 2007). Removing the updates solved the problem. "Good Excel Workbooks Now Acting Up" wrote: Did you find a solution for your problem?
