research window

Randomly, when using excel the Research Window will open whenever I click on
a cell which prevents me from typing anything into any cell. Every time I
click on a cell, no matter what window or document in Excel, the Research
window appears rather than accepting my text. How do I turn this off so I can
resume data input?
