How do I prevent someone copying my workbook

I have put together a very simple book keeping program for one of my friends
but I do not want it to be copied so that someone else can use it. Although I
have protected the sheets and hidden the formulars, i would like to prevent
anyone from copying the whole program to another computer.

You can't. The ability to copy a file is controlled by the operating system
and not XL. The file has no choice about being copied. Some things you can do
are to password protect the file. Choose File - Save As - Tools -General
Options and add a password.

This type of protection requires you to supply the password before the file
will open. Note that there are multiple services available on the web that
will crack this password for a fee so it is not foolproof.
