How to change location of Personal file
How can I change the location of the Personal file that Excel opens up
with? I do not have access to the folder where it's normally save due to security restrictions at work. Thanks. |
How to change location of Personal file
Why do you want to change the location?
Personal Macro Workbook is stored by default in XLSTART folder which you should have access to. If not, talk to your IT people. A workaround would be select Personal.xls when it is open and FileSave As MyMacros.xls Save it to whatever path you have in ToolsOptionsGeneral"At start up, open all files in" You can change that path to wherever you want. I don't know how will prevent Personal.xls from opening if you cannot access XLSTART to delete the file. Trade-off.
Maybe also save a blank Book1.xls in same folder?
