Hi,
When I download some information into Excel I get the following information: Private Orig Open Code Description Use % Date Cost W.D.V 750.07 Transporter Trailer U 3685 (# 13) 40000 21109 The 3685 (#13) appears in a separate cell to Transport Trailer U - how can I combine the two together on the second row (which contains the other data)? I potentially have hundreds of these to combine. Many thanks |

I not sure if this is going to work but it is worth a try. I'm also not sure
what you mean by download (you may be refering to a webquery). There may be special character in the file that is causing the problem. Putting the file into Notepad may remove these characters. 1) If you have a query you may be able to highlight the data on the webpage and copy into Notepad Save the data into a file. Then import the data file into excel. If there are special character then follow the instructions below. 2) If you are downloading from a file then try the following. 1) Open Notepad and set the menu option format so that word wrap is not checked. Read the file into NotePad If the data ppears in a single line in NotePad then save the file and try to import the data into excel again. If there are any special character in the file highlight each of the special characters and copy the special character (Cntl-C). Then using NotePad Menu Edit - Replace and paste the special character into the From box and leave the To box blank. then press Replace to remove the characters. Save the file and read into excel again.
