Answer: How do I change credits to debits in Excel

  1. Select the cell or range of cells containing the credits that you want to convert to debits.
  2. Press the Ctrl and C keys on your keyboard to copy the selected cells.
  3. Right-click on the cell where you want to paste the converted values and select "Paste Special" from the context menu.
  4. In the "Paste Special" dialog box, select the "Values" option and check the "Multiply" checkbox.
  5. In the "Multiply" field, enter
    Formula:

    -

    (without the quotes).
  6. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

This will convert all the selected credits to debits by multiplying them by -1. The negative sign will appear in front of the values, indicating that they are now debits. You can also use this method to convert debits to credits by multiplying them by -1.

If you want to change the sign of the value, you can use a helper cell (or a
column of these helper cells) with formulas like:

=-a2

If you don't want to use a helper column, you can put -1 in an empty cell
Copy that cell
Select the range to fix
Edit|paste special|check multiply and values
clean up that helper cells with the -1 in it.

Hit the F2 key. Highlight the "cred" in "credits", type "deb" to change to
"debits".
