Default Screen / Display "TRUE" "FIX"

At the bottom left of my screen instead of READY, I now show TRUE.
On the bottom right of my screen, I see FIX.

What does this mean and how can I restore the normal?

Most likely, the "TRUE" in the Status Bar is the result of some badly
written VBA code, which set the status bar text to some informative
text and then used

Application.StatusBar=True
where
Application.StatusBar=False

was really intended, to give control of the Status Bar back to Excel.

The "FIX" indicator means that you are in "Fixed Decimal" mode. In
this mode, input has an implied decimal point, so when you enter 1234
it is treated as 12.34.

To fix both problems, press ALT F11 to open the VBA editor. There,
press CTRL G to display the "Immediate" window or choose "Immediate
Window" from the View menu.

In the Immediate window, type

Application.StatusBar = False

and press ENTER. Then type

Application.FixedDecimal=False

and press ENTER.

Close the VBA editor from the File menu to return to Excel.

FIX means Fixed decimal.

In xl2003 menus:
tools|options|Edit tab|uncheck Fixed Decimal places
(If you want)

It's just there as a reminder so that when you type:

12
you may see
12.00

My example should have been:
type:
12
and see
0.12
