Remove explicit formatting only
 

Most cell in my worksheet have been explicitly formatting with a specific
font. I want to remove the specific formatting of the font only such that
the font for those cells will default to (and change with) the "Normal"
style. I realize that removing all formatting will do this but I want to
remove the font style and size formatting only. I can't find a way to do
this.

Remove explicit formatting only
 

Click on the box intersecting the row and column identifiers in order
to select all cells in the sheet. Then you can set the font and size
from the format toolbar, or by right-clicking and selecting Format |
Cells.

All that does is replace any existing explicit formatting with new explicit
formatting. The cells will still not change with the default style.

Under FormatFont there is an option button "Normal Font"

Enable that button.

Follow up question. Now that you've shown how to remove explicit formatting
for fonts, I got curious about how to do the same thing for other formatting
elements (such as number formats) but do not see similar mechanisms for
those. Does this mean that once a cell is explicitly formatting with a
particular number format that it will always be so unless the Normal style is
applied?

A cell with a specific number format will retain that format until changed
through FormatCellsNumber or by changing style which would affect the
sheet.
