links within workbook are not updating
 

I have created one wookbook with many spreadsheets. Many cells in this
workbook are not updating until I click on the individual cell as if to edit
then hit enter, then the cell updates.

I have checked tools, options, calculate, and it "IS" set to auto calculate.

I have seen this before years ago but so not remember the cause.

I've never experienced this in real life, but there have been more than a few
posts that describe this problem.

One solution that seems to work is to select all the cells (in all the
worksheets) and then
Edit|Replace
what: = (equal sign)
with: =
replace all

Excel sees this as a change to each formula and will reevaluate each formula.
Maybe it'll wake up excel's calculation engine???
