How can I repeat a group of values down hundres of rows?

A1= apples
A2= cherries
A3= pears
A4= apples
A5= cherries
A6= pears
A7= apples
A8= cherries
A9= pears
....

Two options.

Enter the values once, highlight these three cells, then use the fill handle
bar at bottom right to drag down.

OR

enter three cells, in A4, enter =A1 and copy just this cell to bottom. Copy
and paste special/values when done.

Your first option was perfect. So simple I should have known to try that.
