listing indiviual entries in a column
Dear all,
Column A contains a list of 1,000 peoples' surnames. Some names repeat several times. Is there a way to list in column B the indiviual names only once? Yours in appreciation, Neil |

Select all the names in column A. In Excel 2007, choose the Data tab,
then in the Filter group, click Advanced. Under Action, choose "Copy to another location". Enter the first cell to which the unique names should be written in the "Copy To" text box. Check the "Unique records only" option. Note that the destination must be on the same worksheet as the original data. The same command can be found in 2003 under the Data menu, Filter, Advanced.
