How can you filter one sheet with values from another?

I need to merge two spreadsheets that differ by a couple thousand rows
because one sheet has been cleaned up from erroneous data and the other has
not. They both share a common column which is numerical.

Hi
could you give some specific examples how you want to merge these sheets?.
You may have a look at VLOOKUP. See:

DC

1. Change the format of your matching columns to text in both spreadsheets
a. keep both files open
2. Highlight the column you wish to filter
3. Go to Data-Filter-Advanced Filter
4. This data range should appear in List range
5. Click on the reduce button next to Criteria range to get to the spreadsheet
6. Go to your other file with the correct column values
7. Highlight the range you wish to use and click the button again
8. Click OK

Changing the columns to text makes them unique and allows them to be
filtered out.
