Paste Special

I am copying select cells from one workbook to another using Past Values
(using the toolbar button to paste). The value pastes, but if I hit enter
(rather than the down arrow), the value I just pasted reverts to the
formula/formatting of the cell I copied from. Is there an option I can access
to turn this off?

Paste Special

After pasting, hit "Esc" to let XL know you're done pasting. Or stop hitting
Enter.

The reason this is happening is that normally you can use Enter as a way of
Pasting and exit CopyPaste mode with a single keystroke. So, in essence,
you're currently telling XL to do a Paste Special - Values, and then Paste
all & exit CopyPaste mode.
