I'd like to name columns, instead of A, B, C, D, etc.
Instead of letters for columns or numbers for rows, I'd like to use my own
headings. Has anyone done this? |

hi
no sorry to say. the column headings can be changed to numbers but that's all the modifications you can do to the headers. you can hide the column headers and row numbers then use row 1 and column A to create your own headers then freeze panes to allow them to be viewed like the regular excel headers. to hide the row and column headers on the menu bar....toolsoptionsview tabuncheck row & column headers. to freeze panes...... place the curser at B2. then on the menu bar...windowfreeze panes. you can now create your own headers. a disadvantage of this method is that you loose your reference to cell addresses and this can be a hinderence if you use a lot of formulas. the original row and column will still be there, just hidden. excel needs these in order to keep track of where everything is on the sheet. regards FSt1 "RarinAaron" wrote: Instead of letters for columns or numbers for rows, I'd like to use my own headings.
