Converting xls to xlsm changes some names
I converted an involved spreadsheet with lots of named ranges and programming
from 2003 xls to 2007 xlsm. In the process it added an underscore to the front of some of the names (that ended in a number) but not all. It was consistent for similar names (rpt01, rpt02, etc changed to _rpt01, _rpt02, etc) but the majority of other names were not changed, including some that also ended in a number. Can anyone tell my why it does this? |
Converting xls to xlsm changes some names
Since Excel 2007 has so many more columns, old named ranges that start with three letters (or even two letters that are 'greater' than the old column limits) could reasonably interpreted by Excel as cell addresses. Part of the up-convert apparently is to check named ranges for this possibility and pre-pend an underscore where it is found. Nothing to be done about it... -- jamescox ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jamescox's Profile: http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/member.php?userid=449 View this thread: http://www.thecodecage.com/forumz/sh...d.php?t=126950 |
