how can i protect edit links ?
 
i have many worksheets/workbooks all interlinked using edit links, i have
noticed that after i protect the w/sheet w/book the edit link stays active
which means it can be tampered with ! anyone know a way to protect edit links
???

I'm not sure I understand...

But if you want to make sure that the formula that retrieves the value from that
other workbook's worksheet, you can lock the cell first and then protect the
sheet.

In xl2003 menus:
Select the cell first
format|cells|protection tab|check locked
Then
tools|Protection|protect sheet

Be aware that worksheet protection is easily broken.

If you meant that you didn't want the value changed in the cells with formulas
that refer to other sheets (or workbook's sheets), you can change the formula to
a value (and lock the cell and protect the sheet).
