I have heard that it is possible to get Excel to auto size columns to their
contents with short cut keys Ctrl + ????. In Excel 2007.

Maybe this helps (from MS documentation):-

Tip To quickly autofit all columns on the worksheet, click the Select All
button and then double-click any boundary between two column headings.
