Copy-Paste function takes forever

I created a grid with text only (27 columns by 43 rows). Each month I have to
update the grid by cutting and pasting. I sometimes have to add/subtract
columns and use the "Borders" function. When Making these changes or
additions each command takes up to 30 seconds to complete. This problem only
started when IT upgraded to the new version of Excel.
