excel found unreadable content in file..... do you want to recover

Hi Please can anyone help I have worked on a simple spreadsheet and saved it
when I try to open it I get a message excel found unreadable content in
file..... do you want to recover it ... when I click yes I get .....Excel can
not open the file because the file format or file extension is not valid
I am the only person working on this file, I am saving to a memory stick?
I am working on office 2007
this is happening too often for me not to fix the problem as I have to keep
redoing my work.
hope you can help

It is probably not a good idea to save Excel files directly to a memory
stick. Save them to your hard disk. When finished running Excel, copy
the file to the memory stick.

You might try copying the offending file to your hard disk to see if you
can then open it in Excel.

In general the advice is don't save from Excel to a memory stick. Save to a
hard drive, & then copy to a memory stick when you've finished.

I am having the same problem and i am not saving to a memory stick. I do not
see any reason why you could not save to a memory stick anyway. I have saved
lots of data to memory stick with no write or read errors. You could have
read or write errors on a hard drive too.

This problem has nothing to do with memory sticks guys. Are ther any other
solutions out there?
