Collecting data from multiple files
Let's say I have 30 daily reports of sales each in a seperate XLS file and I
want to make a new worksheet that will have a 30 row list getting from each file only the date and daily sales figure. How do I do that? |

You need to use a macro to do this. Refer the below link by Ron de Bruin on
merging a range from all workbooks in a folder (below each other) http://www.rondebruin.nl/copy3.htm If this post helps click Yes --------------- Jacob Skaria "ronensis" wrote: Let's say I have 30 daily reports of sales each in a seperate XLS file and I want to make a new worksheet that will have a 30 row list getting from each file only the date and daily sales figure. There is no way to do it with XLS pivot table or consolidation?

If you are looking at data summarization (like total sales for a day); then
yes you can do this with Pivot Table..Refer http://www.contextures.com/xlPivot08.html If this post helps click Yes --------------- Jacob Skaria "ronensis" wrote: There is no way to do it with XLS pivot table or consolidation?
