in excel when i hit return, the cursor does not drop down 1 cell
enter data, hit return, cursor automatically drops down to next cell. Now
the cursor stays in same cell and i have to arrow down. Excel help is no help. something has changed, but i do not know what. thanks, Scott |

Tools - Options | Edit | Check Move selection after enter.

In Excel 2003 or older:
- Go to the TOOLS menu - Select "Options" - Select the "Edit" Tab - Check "Move selection after Enter" - Choose the direction - Click OK In Excel 2007: - Click on the Office Button (big circle in upper-left) - Click on the "Excel Options" button - Select "Advanced" option on the left - Check "After pressing Enter, move selection" - Choose the direction - Click OK HTH Elkar "ibstaylor" wrote: enter data, hit return, cursor automatically drops down to next cell.
