time-sensitive color changing cell formula

I am trying to create a spread sheet that lists a bunch of tasks with a
"completed" cell next to it. After a certain amount of time, I want that
cell to automatically change color indicating a task is expired or needs to
be re-accomplished. How do I write this kind of formula? I am using excel
2007. I hope I have described this well enough.

Hi,

That depends on how you determine that the cell is expired. You might use a
conditional formatting such as:

1. Highlight all the cells on the rows you want formatted, here A1
2. Choose Home, Conditional Formatting, New Rule
3. Choose Use a formula to determine which cell to format
4. In the Format values where this formula is true enter the following
formula:
=TODAY()A1
5. Click the Format button and choose a format.
6. Click OK twiceHi,

If this helps, please click the Yes button.
