i have a large amount of numbers that i want to make a histogram distribution
of.

how can i create a histogram distribution plot in Excel quickly?

Check that you have Analysis Toolpac loaded (Tools | Addins and look for it
in the list)
If present: use Tools | Data Analysis and locate Histogram tool

Alternative: make a column chart then format the data series to have no gap
between pairs of columns

Texas Tonie -

(1) Use the Histogram tool of Excel's Analysis ToolPak. See Help for info,
or tell us what version of Excel you're using.

(2) Use my free Better Histogram add-in, available from www.treeplan.com.

Or, if you're willing to forego "quickly," use worksheet functions like
FREQUENCY or COUNTIF to get the frequency distribution, and then create a
Column chart type for the histogram.
