Marking cells
I just got Excel 2007, Vista, bundled in Office 2007. When I drag the mouse
or use the direction keys or Ctrl/mouse to select a range it does not "mark" the cells selected in blue highlight. How do I toggle this on? Thanks for any help. |

I suspect it is already on. One complaint that has been present from day 1
of 2007's release is the lack of significant contrast between selected and not selected cells. Look closely, and you may actually see that there is a difference. It MIGHT, and I stress might, help if you switch to one of the other two color themes available in 2007, but the constrast is extremely weak in all 3 themes: Office Button, [Excel Options] button, "Color Scheme" in the Popular group. Hi,
It does but the highlight is extremely light - a real problem and one that has been submitted to Microsoft as a bug. The only alternative might be to modify Windows display setting but this would impact all program, and I can say what actually which setting. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button. Thank you JLatham. I was afraid of this. I had already tried your
suggestions. Changing the color scheme didn't help any. Oh well, advance and retreat, that's our way. I was hopeful for a magic button. Have a good day.
