Excel 2007 working on files created with older versions
I work with a form that has macros to calculate all kinds of things. Nothing
I set up --- wouldn't know how to even start. However, I do work with the s/s and it's older versions. Have no problem with the macros there. Now in 2007, when you open a s/s with macros, work it, then save, it saves as .xls instead of .xlsm. When the s/s is passed on to the next person (me) who works other areas of the s/s, the macros have been disabled. the way i know this is i tried to change some data that affects/is part of a macro, but excel doesn't see them anymore. Can i restore them somehow? Hope this makes sense. |

Hi,
First shot, is there a Security bar below the Ribbon? If so click Options and choose Enable... If you have saved an Excel 2007 as an XLSX file instead of an XLSM all macros will have been lost. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button. Yes the ribbon & message is there.
The macros are enabled before working the form. In my last test, the workbook was worked, enabled, and saved as an .xlsm file. I open it. No message about macros to be found anywhere. I go to a part of the form to enter data & run the macro. The message returned is Cannot run the macro "FILE NAME.xlsm 'NAME OF MACRO'. The macro may not be available in the workbook or all macros fielsd may be disabled. "Shane Devenshire" wrote: Hi, First shot, is there a Security bar below the Ribbon?
