Can you shade one cell 2 different colors?

I am establishing a payroll calendar where, 3-months out of the year, a
single day represents 2 different tasks. Each task is color shaded. Can you
split a cell diagonally to shade 1/2 one color and the other 1/2 another
color? I know I can do the cell in one shade and the number in a font color
but it does not stand out like a diagonally shaded area would stand out. I
want it noticed by those who will claim, "But, I didn't see that." Thanks
for your help.

A single cell cannot have two different backgrounds.

Maybe use drawing toolbar to add a couple of opaque objects?

But that's a lot of fiddling.

Excel has many cells...........why use one cell for two tasks?
