Multiple "IF" statements in a formula
I am trying to develop a formula to look at (example): cell a9 and cell e9 on
the first tab, then find matching data on the 2nd tab (e.g., 1st tab cell a9 looks at 2nd tab 1st column and 1st tab cell e9 looks at 2nd tab 5th column = if these both find a match, then return the data on 2nd tab 6th column. Here is my formula: =IF(VLOOKUP(A9,'Defect Type'!A:H,1,FALSE),IF(VLOOKUP(E9,'Defect Type'!A:H,5,FALSE),'Defect Type'!F2,"FALSE")) I know the first row has matching data and should return data, but so far all I'm getting is an '#N/A'. Any thoughts? Thanks! |

Try this array formula** :
=INDEX(Sheet2!F1:F20,MATCH(1,(Sheet2!A1:A20=A9)*(S heet2!E1:E20=E9),0)) ** array formulas need to be entered using the key combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER). Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key then hit ENTER. -- Biff Microsoft Excel MVP "lawandgrace" wrote in message ...
