I'm getting this message when I'm trying to save an Excel workbook as a PDF:

€œDocument not saved. The document may be open, or an error may have been
encountered when saving.€�

I cannot find any help about this. Any thoughts?

what tool are you using to savve a worksheet as PDF? Usually when I use
Adobe writer I can print the file and set the printer to Adobe which
automatically creates a PDF file. The PDF file has to be closed for this to
work. What steps are you performing?

Thanks for helping out. I'm in Excel 2007. I click on the Office Pearl,
then Save As, then PDF. I downloaded the Office 2007 PDF add-in that gives
me these options. I'm working with Windows XP and I have the Acrobat Reader
9.

the microsoft webpage for downloading this product says the following:

This download allows you to export and save to the PDF and XPS formats in
eight 2007 Microsoft Office programs. It also allows you to send as e-mail
attachment in the PDF and XPS formats in a subset of these programs. Specific
features vary by program.

This Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS Add-in for 2007 Microsoft Office programs
supplements and is subject to the license terms for the 2007 Microsoft Office
system software. You may not use this supplement if you do not have a license

Yes, it's a legal copy. I bought the upgrade from Office 2003 and registered
it.

I have the exact same issue - fully licensed copy of Office 2007 with the
"Save as PDF" add-in from Microsoft. Every time I go to save as PDF I get
that error now. Rebooting does not help.

Having the same issue.

"Document not saved. The document may be open, or an error may have
been encountered when saving"

When starting Excel 2007 using the /safemode switch ( excel /s ) the
problem goes away. I suspect it to be an addin related problem.

No events stored in the event log - uninstalling and reinstalling
SaveToPDF does not solve the problem.

Tried to disable the COM-Addin "Microsoft Office Live Add-in" - did
not help.
Tried to disable the Dymo-Addin "Dymo LabelWriter Add-in" - did not
help.

If starting Excel with the /safemode switch solves the problem, but
disabling Add-in's does not - what other conflict could there be?

We are having this same problem. The safe switch did not help with
the problem. Can we get a response from Microsoft or an update to
this add-in? It is the one function that was LONG overdue, and
requested, but only half functional now.
