We have a 2003 spreadsheet where we would like "$" to remain on the left side
of the cell, but if the cell value is "0.00" - we would like that displayed,
instead of just a dash. Can this be done?

Thanks!

Yes this can be done. Right click and format cells, in the number tab, go to
custom and use the following:
_($* #,##0.00_)
